Quiet Tuesday night at the hotel inside the Old City. Right inside the walls. My home base for the next five days of excursions, lectures, and plain old strolling around Israel. (Here is a brief tour of my place.) It feels comfortable after ten days in the country.....but it is still very foreign in many ways.

Tonight, a little reading for tomorrow, writing the blog, and watching an Italian hockey game on some cable channel. Why that is on, of all things......I have no idea. But the broadcast is entertaining to listen to with the excited Italian broadcasters going a mile-a-minute. A number of Americans seem to be playing on each team.

Tomorrow, Morning Prayer with the group up on the top of the Mt. of Olives. Then, a lecture at Hebrew University with a local professor and rabbi on Jewish religious and political thought. In the afternoon, we go to the offices of the Jersualem Post in modern West Jerusalem (the "New York Times" of the Middle East), as our professor/guide Rabbi David has arranged a meeting with the editor of the paper who will talk about the current status of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with us.
Just in case you were wondering........yeah, I am having the most incredibly wonderful time. Ditto!
