Whitened Sepulchres


I always thought it was a cool-sounding term since I first heard it as a young boy in church. Now, as an adult, I look down and see the entire west-side of the Mt. of Olives covered with these tombs, as Jewish people have certain beliefs about why this is the premier place a person would want to be buried.
One can imagine Jesus making this refernce to the Pharisees, and everyone glancing over to the west side of the mountain. Makes for a colorful point.
