Dead Sea Float

Floated in the Dead Sea at lunch time today. Salt content is 35%, so salty, that you feel you are going blind if you get even a drop in your eye -- which I managed to do one time by forgetting and rubbing my eye with a wet finger. It doesn't sting like chlorine. It STINGS like....well, pure salt.

With that salt concentration, you cannot actually swim. You are like a bobber in the water. All you can do is sit back and float. The water actually holds you as if you were enveloped by an invisible pool recliner or lounge chair. It is a crazy, weird, logic-defying feeling. You simply sit, lean back.....and are supported by the water. Like falling backwards knowing tht someone is there to catch you. Soooooooo relaxing.
I am in the water to the lower left.

  2. I guess someone had to hold the camera and take pictures. Salt in the lens gets really nasty.
