First, since I missed the hotel breakfast, time to head down Abu al-Wad St. and get some fast food at Abu-Shukri.

These folks have the best hummus pita in town according to my guidebook. So true! Grilled, slightly crisp mashed chickpeas with vegetables and a sauce that is so foreign I can't even describe it to you. The closest I could come would be thousand island dressing mixed with Horseradish Sauce....but even then, just an approximation. But, it is sooooooooooooooo good.
Even better when you wash it down with a cold.....ummmmm.....it's wet.......uhhhhh......hmmmm.....sweet and bubbly........well, you maybe know what I am talking about. (I am actually holding the can upside down, so stand on your head if you are sincere in wanting to read the Arabic.)

Then, back down the street......

....and after a short while, ducking into the typical Jerusalem "side street" to walk through the city. This is what the majority of the streets look like, and you more often find yourself feeling like a mouse wandering though a maze. Very fun, as your eyes are constnatly bombarded with sight and smells. As you can imagine however, after dark, they look just a tad bit more ominous.
