Green Fields

In the field behind me a great battle was fought in the Old Testament. The Tribe of Dan came to Northern Israel at some time thousands of years ago, and apparently killed hundreds of Canaanites in the field behind me, then proceeded to go on and occupy the city just out of range of this picture.

Now the rolling field is green and lovely.

It kind of reminds me of visiting the battlefields at Gettysburg. Things happen at places, horrible things, and then years later, everything is green and calm. Often, people won't even be aware of what happenned.

Those types of events make up much of the long history of this land. Battles have raged since the bgeginning of time between the Jews and the Canaanites, Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Romans, Persians, Arabs, Christian Crusaders, Turks, British, and modern-day Arab states. Mostly in that order.
Later, the fields recover and turn green again.
